This section features the pledges collected in support of the European Strategy for Plastics in the Circular Economy.

In January 2018, the European Commision invited stakeholders in the plastics industry to submit voluntary but substantive pledges to ensure 10 million tonnes of recycled plastics find their way into products on the EU market by 2025. By end 2018, companies and business organisations, including those representing the full supply chains for some of the major plastic materials currently in use throughout Europe such as POs, PET, PVC and EPS, have submitted 70 pledges.

In March 2019, the European Commission has published its assessment report of the voluntary pledges. To ensure this campaign is transparent and pledgers can be held accountable while also further promoting the uptake of recycled plastics by European industry, the European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform website is now making these pledges available to the public.
