The Economic Cooperation and Trade Division of UNECE organises an online and in-person event titled "Regional Policy Dialogue: Sustainable and Innovation-Enhancing Public Procurement to support Circular Economy Transition in the UNECE region" on 15 November (8:00-9:45 CET), which will also contribute to the development of a policy brief on Sustainable and Innovation-Enhancing Public Procurement.
Taking place in Africa for the first time, the World Circular Economy Forum 2022 brings together forward-looking thinkers and doers and presents circular economy game-changers. Hosted in Kigali, Rwanda and online on 6-8 December 2022, WCEF2022 is co-organised by the African Circular Economy Alliance (ACEA), the Republic of Rwanda, the African Circular Economy Network (ACEN) and The Finnish Innovation Fund Sitra, with international partners. The title for this year's event is 'From Africa to the World'. Free of charge, open to all online. In-person participation is by invitation only.
IOBAC avoids adhesive and attaches its flooring materials partly by means of magnets. Its Dual-Grip technology affixes flooring using both magnetism and tack. This means that tiles can be taken up and reused, keeping the components in the value chain, or recycled. The technology is manufactured using plant-based VOC-free resins, recycled rubber tyres and additives from scrap iron.
test European project BIOnTop obtains promising results in development of new recyclable and compostable packaging. In its first year, BIOnTop has achieved good results in its experimental work on copolymers and compounds with customized biodegradability and multifunctional coating solutions with customized properties.

The Institut national de l'Economie circulaire (France) has published a White paper on Circular agricultural and agri-food systems, which focuses on :
circular agricultural and agri-food systems: definitions, stock-taking and good practices, stakeholder awareness (consumers, professionals, decision-makers, distributors)
territorial ecology applied to agricultural and agri-food systems: synergies between enterprises, level of application, short agricultural and agri-food chains, urban and suburban farming
organic substances returning to the soil: identification of "brakes and levers" (societal acceptance, regulations, etc.), composting, methanation and other transformation techniques
appreciation of the eco-systemic services rendered.
All societies produce waste, though its characteristics and what happens to it depend on cultural, economic and political factors at local, national and global scales. New business models, technological innovations and social enterprise have the potential to reduce waste. Policymakers have a key role to play in supporting these efforts by fostering better communication between stakeholders; through regulation that prioritises reuse and quality recycling; and by encouraging resource efficiency through education, research and manufacturing initiatives.
